The change that had happened in the tiny moment was amazing. A sort of fulfillment that the orange Knight had never felt before settled softly into his chest. He was a father now, a role he had never known himself as a boy, and now here he was to fill it. At first that thought had scared him, for he did not know truly what a father was or what they were meant to do. None of that seemed to be worrisome any longer though. Not as he looked at that little ochre body bundled in the towel. He knew that he would always do whatever his children needed him to do. It was an instinct that he would never be able to disobey. It was as simple as that.
That momentary bliss had lead him to forget that there was likely more pups on the way and so when he felt Princess squeeze his hand again his attention turned back to the fuller picture that was unfolding. Jade eyes watched as his son was placed carefully by the healer, and he too felt the intense urge to hold the boy close, but right now he still needed to help Princess and so his body stayed still. Soon another pup was born and Haven looked at the small form of his daughter, taken by that familiar splash of pumpkin hue. He hadn't known that his coloring would be so prolific. The man wondered if that might be it, but soon enough his mate grasped his hand hard again and he looked eagerly for the arrival of their third child, his tail waving slowly behind him.
