OOC If you need/want to in your post, you can PP Nuki releasing the arrow since she will as soon as she has a shot on Savina. :: 500+

It had been an urge Nuki could not overcome, and when she found herself with the opportunity to trick the Alpha's child into a trap, Nuki was helpless to resist. Operating in her conniving way was such a risk while living within this pack, but she already knew that her time as a Dreamer was growing short. The days she had spent there had not altered her feelings on packs, and only served to stoke the evil hellfire that was growing within the woman.

And she might have gotten away with the crime had she not been so sloppy about it. For one, the choice of victim was all wrong. She could not deny herself the attempted murder of the creamy girl, even though she knew that the girl's mother was already on protective edge because of the injured sibling and the missing adopted boy (who Nuki knew was dead). But she had little time when she executed the trap and had not covered her tracks well, and the mother was soon searching for her missing daughter, too soon for Nuki to lead the pack astray.

After Parker unassumingly trod over the lose-packed snow and fell into the well Nuki had dug, the hellion planned to destroy the child. Alive, Parker could cry for help, or, well, be discovered before her death. Nuki planned to shoot an arrow into the well and pierce the girl, but reasoned that this would not be a good idea. If the body were found the arrow would lead the Dreamers right back to her. She considered dropping stones into the well, pummeling the child to death. That may have passed for an accident. Still, Nuki talked herself out of this, too, as she stared down at the child trapped within the snow. It was not reason, in fact, that made her turn around and walk away, leaving the child alive. No. She intended for Parker to freeze to death.

The decision was the dumbest one she would ever make. She knew it when she heard the mother's snarling voice boom through the trees with a force that threatened an avalanche.

The devil planned to cover her tracks by saying she was out hunting, and when she heard Savina's voice she was in a thicket of pine. The alpha's cry warded off the doe she had been hunting, and also tipped the Rakezael off to the woman's approach. Damn it! She cursed internally. She found the brat. Never would she have imagined that the woman had also rifled through her pack and found the mask that implicated her as a culprit in Denali's disappearance...

Crimson eyes peered over her shoulder. She had been out hunting as an alibi, not to escape the pack, and her prints tracked all the way back to Haven Manor. Even if she could slip off without a trace now, Savina was too close, and the deft alpha would have little trouble tracking her. Instead of running, Nuki sprang into the nearest fir and settled herself on the lowest branch. She made herself small, hiding her usually large body within the pine needles and snow cover. She grabbed an arrow from her quiver and readied her bow, eyes narrowing. All of her senses were alert, she supposed Savina would come crashing through at any moment, and she was determined to get the first shot off.

"Bring it, bitch..."
