Ever since the storm, Skye had been concerned for her pack - her family. The artsy, misfit pack had led her to find her purpose in life, and she vowed to help it all she could. But now that the aftermath of the storm was mostly cleaned up, Skye had one other thing to do; she had to check up on an old friend, Malachi the bear.

She followed the route to where the bear usually went, but Malachi's scent wasn't there - that was strange. In fact, Skye didn't remember seeing Malachi at all during or even after the storm. Worry for her friend grew stronger, and Skye couldn't help but wondering if Malachi had been hurt. If she had, Skye wouldn't be able to forgive herself - Malachi may not be part of her pack, but she was still family all the same, and the first friend she had ever made in Souls. She owed a lot to Malachi, and now...now, she felt that she had let her down.

As Skye trod the familiar forests, the bear scent picked up; it was Malachi's. Overwhelmed with relief, Skye followed it at a brisk pace, black wet nose snuffling out the warm smell of her friend. Indeed, it lead towards her cave, and Skye didn't hesitate in pushing through the bracken to enter Malachi's home.

The bear was in her cave, and immediately Skye sensed something wrong. Her friend was sprawled out on the floor, and the air had the tang of sadness and unhappiness in the air. Skye approached her friend slowly, wondering what was the matter; then, the bear let out an enormous sigh, letting out enough air from her large nostrils to stir up dust in the cave. "Ma..Mala?" Skye asked tentatively. "Are...you okay?"
