"You will pay for what you did..." He mumbled to no one in particular. It was directed at the wolf known as Shawchert though. He spoke this lightly to himself as he walked with a quickened pace out of the town. He stuck to the main roads, which may have seemed odd, but it served two purposes. It would help cover the scent and would help from positively identifying his paw prints. He carried a pup with him. He actually held it with a careful and caring grasp. He wanted it to be comfortable so it didn't cry out, not like that would be likely. He had already fitted a leather muzzle over the pup. It whined now and then, but was extremely muffled.
His pace slowed significantly as he was out of the town. He looked down at the pup longingly. How he enjoyed their tender meat. A stew with the tender butt meat of a puppy was his favorite. The meat of a pup would be laced with baby fat, adding immensely to the flavor. It was also very tender due to it being young flesh that was hardly used. He began to salivate, but he knew he had a ways to go and plenty of work to do before he could enjoy this.
One being his goal, it was nearly over, but not quite. How it would play out he had no clue. He would get back at Shawchert though. He would feel the pain of his mistake! Hatred rose, eyes narrowed involuntarily. He had to keep himself in check, he was about to clench his fists when he remembered the pup he carried. He sighed and trudged on.
