When was the last time you saw him?

Death was a most natural part of the world. But it was the story leading to the end that was what horrified the living. The woman was a cruel creature that had killed before, often without a touch of sympathy. She had put the gun to her ivory sister’s head and pulled the trigger without flinching. The wolfess had treated her with kindness she had met nowhere else before Silas, yet she had been the enemy and Halo had made a final choice. Perhaps the world was not as black and white as she saw it, but this was a life she was devoted to nevertheless. Royal blue ran through fiery veins, and she was the warrior princess that continued to chase her dreams even if she knew that the taste would not be as sweet as she had imagined it to be.

The loner would have lived, but Samael had not permitted that. It was the way he had died that had stained her soul. She would never be clean, but scars faded. They would never be forgotten, but they did not ache as much as they once had. Ears perked at the alien words that slithered out between his lips. Her philosophy was that if you possessed a language no one understood, there was no reason to use it. Yet she held her tongue brushed it off with a relatively rare smile. The boy had spoken in awe, and Halo could not scold a boy that looked at her most priced item with adoration in his eyes. She knew that there was close to no chance that the boy would realize just how well made and kept her blade was, but he was too young to be supposed to know anything, she guessed.

The request was not expected, but she would not snap her jaws at him and stomp his form into the ground. There had been others that had expressed interest in the art of war and wished to specialize in swords, but she had yet to see one remain. Inferni took in so many traitors. Those who revealed their true colours and abandoned the clan were not likely to receive forgiveness from this woman. Makhesthai had yet to commit any crime, and if the boy had the required discipline and capability to learn the dance of the sword, then she would help him capture this dream. ”Perhaps,” she said, withdrawing her sword again. He had seen enough. ”If you will train to become a hydra, I could maybe consider taking you as my apprentice.” But there were so few worthy to train together with her… Neither of them should get their hopes up just yet.

”I wont take just anyone, you know” she ensured him, though was not about to strike out his name on her list of possible apprentices in the future. He knew how life could be, and she hoped there were amounts of rage caged inside him that could be released on the clan’s enemies. ”Would you like to be a warrior when you grow up?” She could just turn around and go any time, but perhaps she was bound by curiosity now.
