Letting it out

The King was alone in the house today, though it was an exceptionally rare occurrence. Ayita had taken the boys somewhere and he had been working in his shop, making plans to repair the damage that had been done to the iron fence that surrounded the hotel. It would not be too difficult, he hoped, and as it had been a bit more than a month since the storm had raged through the Miracles territory, he felt that it was high time that he begin work on fixing the damage that had been done. They had been lucky in that the damage to the territory had been minimal, but he wished to fix what had been broken so that it was fresh and new.

Dark ears twitched at the sound of the knock and the King excused himself from the room he used as a shop, closing the door tightly out of habit. The boys were not home and there were no puppies in the house that could accidentally go in there, but it was out of mere habit that he closed it securely. The man walked down the hall in his least often used form, the one that he found most convenient for working with his tools. It would have been difficult to do in his lupus or secui forms. He opened the door, spotting Niro, looking a bit out of place. “Hello, Niro. To what do I owe this visit?” he inquired, as it was not often that the Huntsman would come to his door, and he assumed it was with reason.
