She moved away from her brother’s box, drawing close and reaching out for the stuffed rabbit. Words flowed, but she wasn’t focused on such noise with the hand drawing so dangerously close to her toy. Fingers closed on one plush ear, intending to draw it away, but Elvira’s teeth only strengthened their hold. As a result her plump body, sprawled out on the floor, was dragged across the smooth surface like a dust-mop, following the movement of the rabbit.

The direction rose, drawing her up into the air, and padded paws were suddenly dangling in empty space. At this a sharp snarl was invoked, reaching up with her forepaws as though to claw at the hand holding one ear with her blunt nails. Her body wriggled, attempting to use the feather-weight of her own frame to draw the stuffed animal back to solid ground along with her.
