Ever watched her mate in short, quiet glances, smiling every time she caught a nervous or unsure expression on his face. She didn’t want him to be fearful around the horses, but had to admit he was doing fine. It was still undetermined whether he was or would have natural horsemanship skills like she did. Her genuine smile turned into a thoughtful one as she turned her gaze, once again, back to Saphraine’s tail.
It became as soft as silk in a short amount of time since it had been brushed very recently by her own hand. The girl slid her fingers across his back and barrel, feeling underneath his stomach and letting her pleased emotions become an expression. She turned to go to the opposite side, patting the stallion’s large golden head, and gliding up to her mate’s side. Ever slipped her hands on his shoulder and down to his chest, laughing quietly when she had to stand on her toes to reach him.
“That is good,”
The silver female said, sliding her hands back over his bust and shoulders. She floated back over to the bucket and grabbed the hard bristle brush and did a quick over on the stallion’s legs. After carefully picking Saphraine’s hooves and giving silent adoring glances at Ezra while he worked on the mane, Ever straightened up and looked over their work.
The girl turned and wandered back over to the shelves, making decision aimlessly.
“Tack or bareback…”
Ever whispered with a thoughtful look. It was her turn to be uncomfortable. She had never ridden in tack or been taught with it around. Rides had always been horse to flesh connection. The idea seemed far less uncontrollable, but she didn’t know if she could speak for Ezra about that.
She padded back over to Ezra and held him close, wrapping her arms around his torso.
“Ready?”
Ever asked excitedly.
“Bareback is the only way I know how to ride, but I will teach you … just like this,”
