The horse was clean, finally, and Ever flitted about the barn doing this and that for their upcoming ride. Ezra remained by the horse’s front, looking him over and patting his soft nose. During Ezra’s time running around the continent, he had met werewolves that had figured out a way to communicate with horses. Ezra had always thought it fascinating, but never bothered to learn it. Perhaps Ever knew how? She always had a knack for taking care of horses, but that was probably due to her incredibly kind nature, not her language skills.
Ever’s intoxicating presence wrapped itself around the male, and for a moment he was speechless due to her being almost too close to him. It was moments like this that made the male want to bring her right back home and curl up with her all day. “Ready,” he said quietly, a genuine smile on his face. He was nervous, of course, but was determined to give this horse a run for its money.
The trio made their way out of the barn, and the optime man’s eyes squinted from the morning sun. Saphraine knew exactly what to do, dutifully standing still beside the wolves. Ezra watched his mate gracefully mount the horse’s back, and with a slight lift from Ever, he got on beside her. The husky clung to Ever, legs dangling limply below.
