She could see the light coming in from the door when she lifted her ocean hued gaze from the man’s shoulders. Her hands unlaced themselves and were brought back to her side after Ezra’s tentative reply. Excitement warped her stomach and Ever turned her face away to return the grooming bucket. The plastic felt cold in her dark hands.
The silver girl flitted to the golden stallion’s side and slid her hands through his white mane before grabbed the husky man’s own hand and leading him out. Saphraine shadowed the two without a rope until they were outside the musky, coolness of the barn. He trotted ahead and paused near the trees, glancing back with dark mocha eyes.
Ever couldn’t help a toothy grin. She increased her walking rate, nearly dragging Ezra with her. Upon arriving near the wild haflinger, the girl checked her mate for emotion. The nervousness was evident, though the hybrid found it charming. A comforting expression painted her face.
A bird chirped in the forest as the light from the sun grew a fraction lighter. She flicked a curl back from her face and hoped with fluidity onto her steed. The girl adjusted her sage dress so that it draped easily over her thigh. Eyes looked for her mates and she smiled to find that he was already determining a way up. Ever assisted him slightly, pulling on his hand to get him aboard.
The girl sighed in content as the man’s large grasp clung to her thin body. She felt their legs touching, her hair resting against his shoulder, his hesitant breath warm behind her. Ever also felt the slight tenseness of the stallion, the quicker in his barrel, the anxiety fluttering his heart rate. Her paws remained still, letting the morning melt into them. Then, she tapped her smoky furred heels lightly on the stallion’s side, easily snapping him out of the routine gallop and into a calm walk. Ever helped balance Ezra behind her as Saphraine moved spritely.
