Anatoliy nodded, feeling his mind wander. For one, he was thankful that Haven did not press the matter, but then his heart was wishful for some company and friendship. It was times like this the Russo realized he was not good at socializing, and that he had few friends among the men and women in the kingdom. He wished he had tried before to make this pack more of a family to him. But it was too late to cry about spilled milk already cleaned. He had to eat his own mistakes. At least he had Haven to briefly converse with. Perhaps Anatoliy would find others in the pack, perhaps to spar or fish with. Anything.
But then her name was mentioned and the light returned to the Russo's eyes, yet pain came on too. "She vas here? Vhat?" There was urgency in his voice, even though he tried his hardest to mask that, if only that. "Vhat happened? Vhy vas zhe circumstance not zhe best?" He somehow hoped that Haven had seen her stabbing Keese to death, but that seemed unlikely. To the Russian, the bastard had replaced him. A big place to fill but that ego swelled enough to fill a fat man's bed.
