She wasn't sorry for what had happened on the borders of Dahlia de Mai, as she had felt certain that her family would agree; even the cold words to the young Optio went without the woman's desire to apologize. Sage was different, yes, and she couldn't be punished for how she thought. The problem simply was that Inferni did not think in the same peaceful shades as the relaxed Lykoi girls that Kaena loved so much. Talitha de le Poer had long since learned that the world outside of Infern's borders were black and white; she was a coyote, and therefore she bore stigma as well as love simply on that declaration. It was no different for the wolves who lived on the outside. Her cousin simply did not understand. The older Optio wondered if she ever would.

The beach was her source of comfort for the day, an easy way to forget herself found in the cold waters of the Saltbrooke Inlet; she waded into the water without hesitation. Swimming had always been a pleasant pastime for the auburn-shaded female. While locked away on the Dahlian beach, she found pleasure in the salty waves there. Inferni was no different — when the mentally unstable de le Poer woman needed a place to clear her mind, she turned to the water.

Her swim was short-lived. As she returned to the shore, shaking her curls loose from water, crimson eyes caught the sight of her sandy cousin. Black lined lips twisted in a grimace, not because Sage was there, but because Talitha herself wasn't quite sure she was ready to deal with the argument that would ensue.
