she's lost in her thoughts

slooow, bad, etc.

Hazy, half-lidded eyes lagged across the shoreline. Maybe her auburn-haired cousin really wasn't here. A nearly-relieved breath filled up Sage's lungs, but before she could exhale, yellow eyes caught sight of something. Unsure, she waited. Then, out of the waters rose Talitha. She'd been swimming; her body had been lost in the pattern of the waves. Blinking curiously, Sage let out her deep breath. She'd found her, after all.

The crimson-eyed de le Poer girl was several yards down the shore, and Sage approached slowly, cautiously. She wanted to repair things between them, not argue more; but Talitha's expression was foreboding and unpleasant. The earth child was sure she wouldn't make it easy.

Untamed, wild seabreeze whipped through Sage's hair where she stood, cementing her feet to the sand for the moment. She would let Talitha close their distance. Thin fingers brought the remains of the joint to her lips, and Sage inhaled deeply before tossing the thing into the wind.

"Talitha..." she began, more of a plea than anything. She didn't want to see her cousin's angry face or hear her bitter words; she just wanted it all to be right again. Yellow eyes did not look to Talitha's yet, but stayed on the sea. At least there, there was peace.
