In her vague stupor, the fact that Hybrid didn't partake in mild-altering substances escaped her. Never had she seen him drink liquor or smoke those strange plants Sage did or the unpleasant powered stuff Cotl utilized. Hybrid's abstinence to substances was not as well known by his niece as it might have been. His grimace caused her own features to shift down in both confusion and disappointment; had she done something to make him angry in just those few words?
