The clouds rolled in faster than before, and they loomed ever closer. He watched them barrel toward them, an impressive display of the sheer power of nature. The storm was fueled by the sea as the warm summer evaporated the water, condensing it into angry clouds that let loose all their load. But they were so large, and the storm front seemed to sweep in from the southeast. It was obviously fed from a hot summer along the northwestern African coast. The air smelled wet, and the Russo could feel the electricity in it as he saw the bolts of lightning jumping from the clouds to the sea in angry bursts; the thunder was audible now, cracks in the wind. He even saw some bolts jump from one cloud to the other, something he saw often on his short time at sea. Nature was beautiful. But once it hit land, it would be ugly. The wrath of the sea would meet the earth.

The wind was blowing in his face from the sea, all the scents of land were obliterated from his senses; all he could smell and taste was salt. But his ears could still hear the rustle of the leaves of the forest behind him and of the animals smarter than he scurrying to hide from the incoming rain. And he heard a horse whining. But was it in fear? Anatoliy absently gazed southwards, catching sight of a large horse galloping away from their owner. Fear? No. It was Rem. Rem would not have just left.. Anann. It was Anann standing there, missing her horse. That perceptive bastard creature. It knew more than it could ever tell.

The Russo leapt off the edge of his boat and hit the sand with a gentle thud. She seemed stuck now, without Rem to take her home to her cabin. The horse was probably off to seek shelter; the storm would hit soon and the horse was smart as any one of them. Before the woman could escape into the shadows of the trees, though, the Russian man took off to get close to her, even though his instincts screamed to leave it alone, that she did not want him. Rem knew better and he would listen to that horse. He dropped her here, and he would take the chance. "Anann!" he called, his deep voice echoing down the beach. Meanwhile, the clouds came ever closer.
