While Jericho was well aware of he various tragic stories that littered her family’s history, she gave no consideration to the fact that such tragedies still existed. To her, they were just things from the stories her parents told her, late at night when she and her siblings couldn’t sleep. It was naïve perhaps, and maybe even opposite to what her parents taught her, but Jericho believed that everyone really did have their own happy story. If not a good beginning, surely they had a happily ever after. So when the female answered with a soft, barely audible I’m here Jericho was puzzled. Well that wasn’t very cheerful at all, was it?

She moved forward, nose prodding the air delicately. When she finally caught sight of the elusive coyote, the young coyote felt a smile grace her features. Oh wow.. She spoke, words soft and full of admiration. That’s some coat you’ve got there! The gray and brown coyote stayed where she stood, feeling it might be inappropriate to crowd the stranger. It would be best to just admire her colours from afar. Even if that was sort of stalkerish. She just wasn’t used to such colours…or even the entire looks of the coyote. She was certainly canine, but nothing she’d ever seen before. Not dog or even fox. It was truly bizarre and Jericho found herself very interested in her new acquaintance.
