Wheeeee ^.^

Styx was left in the camp (again, one might add) as Hel hunted. He didn't really mind. He wouldn't be of much help, even if he'd set up traps for rodents around the camp, and someone did need to watch their equipment and -- more importantly -- the fire. Besides, it gave him a chance to go through his things and make sure everything was in order. Call him a perfectionist, if you will, but if he managed to get an assignment he didn't want to have to rummage too much to find what he needed.

The fire scent covered a lot, but still a whiff of something else reached him, and that was enough. He froze for a moment. It wasn't Hel's scent. So it was a stranger. Normally, if he'd been on his own, he wouldn't have been any more alarmed than if he himself had run into someone. But now he was responsible for Hel's things too while she was out, and he was not going to fail her. So while it might not be that big a weapon, he grabbed one of his piercing needles and held it tightly as he waited. But perhaps one shouldn't wait? Surely whoever it was had smelled him too. And his fire, definitely. So why should he hide?

Show yourself! he called out in the direction the wind had brought the scent from.
