Oxford stood his ground in silence, absorbing her words as they left her mouth. Oxford knew little of Gabriel's personal life and the name Ahemait meant nothing to him. At her question, Oxford nodded and deciding she had nothing left to add for the moment, he responded.

"He is," he said calmly keeping his watch on the girl with narrow eyes, squinted against the rain. "May I ask who you are?" The girl did not appear to be a threat of any kind, but should anything arise, it would be useful to know her name. For the moment, he would not release his unless she asked.
