[M]It Grew toward the Wild
#12
The first leap and he was off into the wild, fully letting go of his civilized nature, ears perked, nose to the ground. They where tracking along the side of a mountain, no they weren’t at the top, but the valley was down below them. Fall brought in changes, winter was a time for hunting, the cold biting air entering his nose only helped to increase the thirst for prey.

Saluce paused a moment as his companion sniffed along side of him, his ears perked for a moment, hearing the distinct high pitched bugling from an bull elk. His head twitched downward, eyes scanning the valley below them. The behemoths ears swiveled again, catching a returning bugle from another bull, and it was enough for his mouth to water, drool started to leak from his maw as he searched the air for their scent. His form was full of built up energy, almost bursting from the seams when he turned to her, cocking his head in a quizzical fashion, asking in a wolfish manner.

His eyes studied her a moment, taking in her size and strengths, if there ever was a female to challenge him physically she could have been it. For a moment he forgot about his own stomach and waited for her signal that this choice in prey was suitable for her. He moved closer moving his gaze from her downward again as if to point out their location.
