Shaking and disoriented, she had tried to return to Cerne Rise. It would never be her home again. She didn't deserve to live there, to dishonor its walls with the presence of a killer. Her bloody handprint had shown up darkly against the frame of her bedroom, long fingers leaving smears of the substance behind as she had gone to gather up what little she owned from that room. The last time she'd been there, things had been so different. She had been so different. Wretch could barely believe what had happened, what she had done...and she needed to get away from it all. She had seen Saul less and less lately, but maybe that was for the best; she could not bear the thought of her father seeing her in this state, blood on her hands. She had wiped her hands off as best she could before gathering her things, not wanting to smudge them up either, before fleeing Cerne Rise altogether.

Dawn was beginning to break now as she padded through Trenton, heading South. She wanted to get as far away from "home" as possible, into a part of the world where canines did not know her name and where they would not care to speak with her if they saw her. She stopped at a small creek to wash her paws, staring into the cold water before she took a small amount of it and splashed it over her muzzle. There. The water gave her a temporary jolt of alertness, a feeling that soon passed as she continued along her way. Her body was exhausted from the night's activities and the amount of running that she had done, but the urge to continue kept her going. She needed to get away...to get far away.

The short female was nearing the border by the time she chose to stop, breathing heavily from the amount of weight that she held on her back. The girl still walked with a very slight limp, and now that she was as exhausted as she was, the limp was more pronounced. She wasn't carrying much, but what she did carry seemed to weigh more and more with every passing step. Wretch grasped the straps of her leather pack, hearing it jingle as she tossed it down onto the ground. She hadn't thought to bring any food with her...a realization that came to the forefront as her stomach gave a loud gurgle. Damnit... She mumbled, growling beneath her breath. She wasn't a very skilled hunter...why had she not considered food in her haste to leave?! She kicked a nearby tree in anger, sending squawking birds flying away in sudden fear.
