A cold nose pushed into his belly as he batted at her face, and Skoll was nudged into a seated position. He growled still, though the sound had grown clearly exhausted and was barely audible.
The last nudge sent him on his back, where he wriggled before locking gazes with the female, who was demonstrating her dominance. There was a flicker of anger and defiance in him at that, and the blonde pup rolled back onto his stomach once she’d settled down, clearly tired from their game like he was. He took this opportunity to let out one sharp yip and flaunt his golden tail up over his back like an alpha.
Skoll was definitely a dominant puppy—quick to test the boundaries of tolerance with adults, as well. He understood his place underneath his parents, but even with Terra, the urge to prove his strength overwhelmed any common sense. This female could break his neck if she wanted to, and yet he kept his ears and tail erect, a wordless display. A sharp nip of discipline or an explanation would probably cause him to back down and understand the consequences of his actions, but until then, he stared proudly but tiredly at his pack mate.
