Terra wasn't surprised to hear his admission of preferring the straight forward way. It was good that she'd run into someone straightforward to teach her. Others would probably have asked for payment and the like, but Dresden simply watched, a flicker of pleasure in his eyes. Terra ran through the stances Dresden had shown her a few more times, making sure she remembered them. There was no way she could master the weapon in a single day, so she settled for mesmerizing the movements so she could practice on her own later on.

Done with the weapon Terra placed it on the ground and moved on to the deer they'd taken down. Her hunger was too powerful to keep ignoring at this point. Stepping around to the other side of the deer Terra began tearing the fur away, digging into it's insides. It had cooled down while Terra had been learning about the daggers, but the blood was still fairly liquid, not yet turned into the sluggish sauce that usually decorated older corpses. Relishing the taste she tore through a kidney, keeping in mind that her companion might want one as well. That was the only time she slowed though, and feasted as if she wasn't planning on eating for days.
