The room began to spin and oh, how her head hurt. It was all Kiara could do to just sit there. The exhaustion and pain caused her limbs to shake making her body feel like jelly. Her open wounds dripped blood at a slow but steady pace. She had suffered from severe blood loss the day before and the reopened wounds were not helping her situation. Most would turn into ugly scars. The only exceptions were the scratch above her eye and her swollen cheek.
A quiet rasp against the door made the snow wolf jump. It could be Shiloh... but what if it was Amy? Kiara's lips pulled back and her ears flattened against her head. Her heckles raised and blood dripped to the floor giving the normally gentle snow wolf a frightening appearance. A warning growl issued from her lips despite the fact that fear flooded her eyes. Kiara relaxed though when the figure on the other side of the door addressed her as 'sister wolf.' Whoever this male was, he was pack. Kiara would always trust pack.
Her posture relaxed and her growls disappeared, turning into whimpers. She had growled at another pack mate. How could she? What was she becoming? Kiara collapsed on the floor and curled into a ball. She didn't answer the stranger, she just lay on the floor and whimpered. Even if the stranger was pack, the injured wolf didn't want to meet new wolves. The last stranger Kiara had met hurt her so badly and she never wanted to experience that again. She prayed he would just go away.
