The curvy silhouette of the pack's alpha female could be seen in the little alcove that she and Zalen had picked for themselves within the pack's den. Her back was to the den but not antisocially. Even the best of wolves needed a cat nap here or there, though she wasn't so much sleeping as daydreaming, golden eyes open and studying the small cracks in the rocky wall of their den. When Zalen's howl sang out she rolled over with the speed of an eager tail-wagger, and her head popped up, ears pert.

Someone new has joined New Dawn already? This was splendid! Within seconds the silvery female was on her paws and quickly she skated to the mouth of the den. When Zalen and Noah arrived she was waiting for them there, her eyes searching the trees expectantly and tail wagging. As soon as Zalen popped out of the brush, though, she became frozen with anticipation, her eyes searching for who was to follow her love through the trees. And then she saw the silvery wolf, and brightened.

“Is that... Noah?” She said to Zalen, her voice confused but excited. Maybe she had misunderstood... But no, there was no way she could misinterpret the meaning of that howl. She trotted out of the den to meet the two half way, her tail still twitching with a welcoming wag as she extended her muzzle to first touch noses with Zalen, then Noah. “You've come to join us? What of Ichika?” She wasn't disapproving, just curious. She had liked the stammering man when she met him, even if he was the poor victim of dire circumstances.
