Dear Sons and Daughters of Hungry Ghosts
#10
Saluce was still secretly fuming, unable to reasonably process the scene in front of him. Blue eyes returned to his mate for the time being remembering the week they had shared not too long ago. If the thief was still in Ichika then he’d make sure they came nowhere near the den site again. But his eyes fell back on the new mother, his mind still somewhat reeling from everything that had happened that morning.

Soon though his eyes spied the little bundle of joy in her arms, he wanted to be happy, but his suspicions had been that this was Gideon’s daughter. But the little pup in her arms shared none of his markings, now did her oversized ears speak well toward who or what type of canine father it was. He hadn’t been there for the naming but it was probably just as well, since it would have churned his stomach. Saluce would have liked to think he wasn’t racist, but if he knew of the father and how absent, how utterly useless he had been, he’d break a rule he hadn’t broken in a long time.

The question came while he was contemplating this visual evidence, processing it all in his mind before he snapped out of it. Another dilemma was upon him, would he bear the dirty little secrets of Ichika? It wasn’t his nature to lie, and keep things hidden but one thing hung on him before he answered. Upsetting the two women would do more harm than good right now so for now he figured it was best to just let it lie for now until the two of them where in a better mood to know the truth of it.

“I buried him, Out on top of the mountain overlooking Ichika. When Nayru feels better I’ll take her there.”
