It amazed him still just how excited his young children got when they saw him, even after he had been gone for such a long time during his occupied leadership in AniWaya. He did not know if that was something he could thank Ayita for, as he did not know how she had handled them in his absence (and he knew it had to have been difficult), or if it was something that could be attributed to their young age, but either way, he was grateful for it.
Spending individual time with his children was good for him, he knew, and it was extremely important to their development. That was why he had hated being away for as long as he had. Their conception had not been planned and they could not have been born at a worse time, but perhaps it was not important. They had all survived and their family seemed more whole now, more complete than it had felt before. Liam was still here, and while it would have been whole only if Amaranth and Noah were still in the kingdom, their family was strong. He loved his family more than anything, more than eh ever expected he could.
