OOC: -watches Caprica swim in the confusion- Words: 374

She was swinging herself to the ground as the pups introduced themselves, loosening Rohan's girth - the mare could probably do with the break anyway. Sophie and Boothe, or Boof, or something. Funny names, but nice ones. Their story was peculiar and hard to figure out through the childish grammar. They had always been in the wilderness? They didn't look to be starving, so either they had a strange distorted idea of when they'd been born, or they were lying, or they had extremely short memories. Caprica was experienced with puppies, and knew anything was possible. The main thing was they really did seem to be alone, although as she came down nearer to their level, bending onto one knee, she definitely caught the scent of another canine, probably an older one and not affilated to a pack. So they had been recently abandoned, for sure. Or had wandered off and become lost, as Sophie seemed to be saying - but the stories just didn't match up, and there was that scent... Yes, they had recently had company. If they had been abandoned, it was the smell of a criminal. Maybe she could catch the guilty party up if she hurried and give him a piece of her mind. Leaving kids like this in the middle of the forest was nothing short of a death sentence. They probably couldn't even catch rabbits yet. She only hesitated because whoever had done this didn't deserve the time it would take to enlighten them as to the error of their ways. She supposed short of actually executing this mysterious half-imaginary figure, there was no point, and she wasn't sure about the final solution either - maybe they had a really good reason for doing what they did; maybe she should feel sorry for them too. Of course, most likely they were just rotten through and through. Or, maybe she was thinking far too far ahead and these pups were merely lost after all and their family would come running up any moment now. Caprica was halted by indecision. "Where did you last see your daddy?" she asked, hoping this might shed some light. "Is he lookin' for you?"
