Aemon stood firm in his spot, not wanting to get nearer, not trusting the larger tawny wolf. Crimson eyes flashed as he watched her; her proximity worried him, and his hand tightened around the wooden handle of his spear. If she chose to attack, he wasn't sure of his odds. The wolfess was much bigger than him, and in Secui form-- the bulkiest, perhaps strongest form, and the one that Aemon had yet to master. The woman replied to him, and he noticed her cool indifference to his warnings. This was not right. If she knew what greeting awaited her here, why would she still come? A low growl rumbled in his throat, and when her head bent again, he tensed. His entire body was alert; Aemon was prepared for a fight, should the need arise. His fur bristled as she mentioned the mountains. Of course Inferni hadn't claimed that steep, dangerous mountain as their territory-- much better and much safer to hunt on the open plains and through the trailed forests. He smirked, taking one more step ahead. "Not yet," he said pointedly. If they wanted the mountains, they could take them. It would only take time.
"Who is it that you wait for, then?" he asked, curious. Who amongst them would associate with the wolves, with this wolf from the pack-in-the-mountains, the very same that Ezekiel had warned them to avoid. "Perhaps I could... call them for you," he suggested, lightening his tone, scarlet eyes narrowing into snake-like slits. He would do nothing of the sort, but if he could convince her that he would, it might bide enough time for someone else to come along and help him chase her off. Alone, he knew he was hardly a threat to her at that size, with his lone wooden spear. He knew that her teeth and claws could break through the wood easily, leaving the deadly-sharp arrowhead near useless; and Aemon didn't want to have to make another one already.
