Together, they moved purposefully. Each step matched the other’s near perfect sync without practice, within true lead, simply following the subtle advance of the other within the measured pace conducted by the band.

Music was a force all its own able to invoke an endless array of emotions without need of the experiences that often portrayed the like. One could embrace joy of running through a field or the bittersweetness that came with love found then lost without personal suffering of that particular loss. But what was more profound to the senses was to embrace what one’s feelings reflected within song. To love and be loved…to feel it… to hear it. From the strings and into her very soul the sound reverberated waking her heart from its preserved slumber to beat fervently with this rekindle and wild emotion.

Despite the words that rested on her lips, she needn’t utter them for his ears for she knew that her movements would speak for her. The gentle place of her hands across his back… the delicate pressure of her head as it rested on his shoulder; small and predictable, wordless movements that spoke in grander volumes as they were amplified by the music. And as the rhythm gradually came to a close, the band letting their instruments trail off with a single note, the inspired emotions lingered and there was no reluctance to part. Had she been thoroughly engaged with another male whilst she danced, emotion and all invested, when the spell of the music wore away she would have been left with the void of lack of fulfillment… of emptiness because which was felt was nothing more than a conjure of the music.

But she did not suffer that now. As she pulled away from his handsome physique under the glow of the radiant fire, she did not look to his face with sadness but joy… with love, for whom she had within her arms was one she cared for dearly and was hers and hers alone and desired and loved her just the same.
