She didn't fall for his trick, and inwardly, he was disappointed. Aemon should have known better than to try to trick this, but still he had tried. Crimson eyes narrowed at her words. Of course he didn't plan to take the mountains, and Aemon didn't even know if Ezekiel would want them. Their valley lands were perfectly suitable for their lives, but even still, the Vigiles wanted to push her. He wanted her gone, in truth, both for his own sake and for hers. Aemon was deadly with his weapon if he had a moment to aim, and the distance between them was just enough. "You'll have a fight if you want one," he said with a growl, pearly whites flashing in annoyance. Just go, he thought, crimson orbs narrowing on her, not feeling up to a skirmish with the larger, well-muscled woman at all. He glanced over his shoulder a few times, nose to the air, trying to catch a nearby, familiar scent to come calling, but none stood out.
Aemon only grew bolder when she talked of her homeland, and of traitors. So she knows the traitor-girl, he thought, taking a few steps towards her, stalking, staring, hackles raised as he moved through the dying grasses, quiet as the breeze itself. It was logic that kept him away from wolves; they'd killed his mother and slaughtered his friends, why should he give them more chances? And this one, so bold as to lay there and act innocent. She wanted a name? Aemon spat. "You can't have it," he growled, feeling a growing hunger for the prey at her feet. His eyes flashed, wondering if he could be fast enough to take her out and steal her prey in one go. The idea was a bad one, he admitted, and even as he pressed his palm against the Book in his pocket, Aemon knew even He might not be able to protect him from the beastly size she held over him. It just wasn't worth it.
