Amy had watched the hybrid enter the tent of a carnival merchant. Her bristles had stiffened, knowing that she'd lost a customer. Watching him shoot at a target with a bow that was clearly lower class than hers just added salt to the wound. She might not have made the bows, but she didn't accept anything except top quality, and she could see that was not one of them. For a normal hunt it would be fine. Repeated stress would shatter it though. It wasn't made for long term use. It might last a few years if used only for hunting once a month, but used more often than that and it would break.

Tossing her head Amy snorted as the hybrid settled down to watch the flow of traffic. So confident in his purchase. Amy wanted to march right over there and break the bow, but she had come to the market to build connections and a good reputation, not throw fits. She stayed where she was, smiling brightly as a young wolf came her way. Gaily she struck up conversation, beginning the trade. He was looking for bows, and wanted to ask for directions. Her pride pricked she walked to the back, bringing back the cheapest of her bows. It was a simple wooden one, but it was polished and made of good wood that would last a long time. One could take it to battle and not worry about it breaking. There would still be stress on it, but the bow could survive at least a year of constant battle before showing the strain.
