No worries on the late reply SmileSmile Also word count: 546 words.

push it inThe ebony lady waited in the silence, her heart pounding inside her chest, the panic about how her son would take this news gripping her. She did not mind the way her heart jumped erratically with each moment that past, at least it was still beating, reminding her that she was indeed still alive and was not meeting her son in the afterlife. It was so odd seeing him now, he had gotten so big since the ebony lady had allowed her jade eyes to fall upon him last, then he had been just a small pup, still tripping over his paws he was that small, it had been an age since she had last seen him. She realised that he was nearing a year old now, she could barely remember his birth, she had been too struck with trauma and too filled with alcohol to really be able to have any memories of her smallest pups being born, the only thing she really had was the pair that had survived who she barely knew and the nagging sensation that something terrible had happened, something that she could never be forgiven for. The latter was the reason the ebony fae tried to think of the birth of her second litter, she had no idea what had occurred, but she was almost sure that loosing her most recent litter of pups before they had even been born had been punishment for whatever it was had happened, whatever she had done.

push it inPart of the reason that she had come back here was that she had lost her youngest babes before they had even been born, awaking in a pool of blood and in horrid pain. That had reminded her that she had living, healthy pups here, pups who still deserved a mother, someone to care for them. Though she supposed that if she had had her pups, she would have brought them here in time, when they were old enough to have made the journey to the 'Souls lands she would have brought them here, she would have wanted them to meet their older siblings. The lady felt instantly more guilty for not having been around for her younger pups, for Khaden and Dhalia, true they had disappeared and Soran had gone to search for them for a while, but she had not searched hard enough, she had not found them, she could have done so much more, she could have been a mother to them, and now it seemed it was too late.

push it inSoran simply nodded at Khaden's apology, she attempted to reply to him, to tell him that it was no trouble whatsoever, that it was already forgiven, he couldn't be to blame for a nervous reaction, but the words got caught somewhere in her throat, she was unable to even open her mouth, her jaw wouldn't open and allow any sound out. It wasn't until the ebony male said his goodbyes and turned to leave that Soran was able to find her voice, “No,” she whined, instantly horrified by how pathetic she'd sounded in just that single word, "please don't go, I want to talk to you." She finished, managing to regain control over her voice, making it sound much more clear and in control.
