Relief ran through Hadley as the leader stated that he was doing a good job. He wouldn't be thrown away, would be able to continue caring for the pack without fearing that he would be declared useless and killed. He nodded his head shyly at her words. Thank you. Anything given to him would be thanked for properly, relishing every single last scrap given to him, whether it was words that confirmed they found him useful or the choice of when he could sleep.

He lifted his head slightly to watch Anann harness up the horse. A colt tried to escape, and Hadley quietly stepped over, managing to not make any sound. Reaching his side Hadley petted the colt affectionately, trying to keep it calm and out of trouble. The question surprised the hybrid. He looked up, confusion showing through as he tried to work through the words. He was being asked to accompany, not ordered, and hadn't been told to help with the lumber and nails. Was he just to stand guard? Or was she making sure his duty with the horses was finished? I can come. He climbed over the fence, stepping behind the wagon to follow it as he was used to with Amy.
