The last women to throw something at me hadn’t been hopping for more than target practice. He chuckled. The Alaskan seemed to have some sort of luck to attract such dangerous women. Whether it was good or bad could be left up to judgment. Even though Amy had tried to kill him, she had left him with the two blades he now had in his possession.

He stopped running his whetstone and listened intently for an answer to his question when he noticed Thana’s pause. It said all that need to be said, but she answered anyway. The flirtatious smile that came with it was too much. It was useless trying to distract himself. She had come to see him while knowingly in heat. The planning and effort it took to find him seemed a lot of effort for just a little action. Despite her compliment, Jaden thought of himself as nothing more than ordinary. With how strongly he wanted her just because of that scent she could have easily seduced some other male, a random passerby with much less conviction about a one night. But she had come all this way just for him.

Then, He pushed himself up and managed not to wince at his injuries, I might have to ask you, He moved around the fire and found a place close to her. why you’re out, when it is so close to nightfall, searching for a dangerous killer? The question was ended with a sharp and devious smile but held a double meaning. If she had come for him because she felt a connection similar to what had crossed his mind upon their first meeting, an innocent note to it offered a chance to confess. If not, it was a willing chance for her to seduce him. The beast was winning. The longer he sat so close the easier it was to not let his mind wonder and concentrate only on the body before him. He was so nearly ready to do something he might regret.
