OOC: Ooooh boy, this should be interesting. WC: +400

As soon as she plunged into the water, Ciara instantly felt relief. The heat plaguing her body had cooled almost instantly and the itching sensation all over her form started to calm. Still, her neck craned so she could nip across her fur, growling as she worked at her skin. It would be easier if she were biting at ticks or fleas, but there were none yet, it was not quite warm enough. This was an itch that could only be scratched in one way, and the young Epsilon was unsure if she was even ready for that yet. When she’d finished biting and gained a little more relief, she settled back down into the water.

The cool current pressing against her body relaxed her almost to the point of sleep. It contrasted against the warmth of the mid-day sun. She closed her eyes against its light and let out a relaxed sigh. Could she spend the next two weeks here, in the brook, refusing to leave until her cycle had passed and she could move amongst the others free of the embarrassment that came with this aspect of being a female? She knew that she was a pretty wolf, with golden patched fur which shone both in moonlight and the rays of the sun. It wouldn’t help keep them away, that was for sure.

Carefully Ciara took a few rocky steps forward in the water so she could rest her chin on the bank. Occasionally the pull of the current caused her lithe body to sway, her tail swishing along. The coolness was everywhere, touching every aching inch of her. She was so caught up in the relief that she didn’t immediately sense Zalen’s approach. Her ears pricked at the sound of paws approaching, and her earthen eyes snapped open. She thought at first that it might be Augustus come to rescue her, but when those hues fell on the hulking, sable form of her Alpha, a slight panic rose in her.

What was Zalen doing here? The last time she’d been in heat, he had warned her and Augustus what would happen if they stepped out of bounds. Was he coming to yell at her? She was already out of the den, no longer harming them or threatening his mate Titania. She forced herself to relax, convincing herself that her Alpha was merely curious about why she was sitting there in the brook. Her tail swished over the water even as her eyes lowered, and her ears folded against her head in the proper, submissive greeting.

Hello, Alpha, she said, all politeness and uncertainty.
