Zalen watched the confused expression on Ciara’s face at his actions, but he paid it no mind. He was the Alpha, the strongest, most desirable male in the pack, was he not? She should be begging to be chosen by him to mate with. Slowly, she began to bow before him, and he took another step towards her, his body shifting ever so slightly, a subtle sign that he was planning on moving to her backside. But then, a sound, and Zalen’s mind was ripped away from the wolfess before him to see Titania burst from the tree-line like a banshee.
Zalen could do nothing as his mate pressed between he and Ciara, and set her teeth against the young girl. His ears flicked back slightly, eyes wide, as the subordinate immediately groveled before the Alphess. He was slightly in shock, and reeling, his head swimming from testosterone and adrenaline. Zalen stood stiff, trying to regain his sense when another wolf appeared, this time it was Ciara’s mate, Augustus.
The silver and black male came towards them, bristling and enraged and claiming Ciara as his own. Ciara then began explaining quickly that there had been nothing, that Zalen was not who she wanted, and she caught his eye. This is what set Zalen’s mind back to its senses, though he was still incredulous at both Titania and Augustus for barging in on him. He turned to face Augustus, forced ears forward, raised his hackles and drew back his lips to snarl at the monochromatic hunter. He would not take this insubordination from any male, and he growled viciously at the Epsilon before whipping his entire body around to bite at Titania’s face ENOUGH! he roared out in a feral and guttural voice that demanded respect from all of them, and now.
