Trent felt awkward even though they were light-heartedly joking, but it was a feeling that he was used to. Trent always felt awkward in any social situation, since he didn't really know how to behave. It wasn't so much that he cared about others' opinions, but it was mostly that he didn't want to end up friendless and alone if ever a situation arose where having others to back you up was good. Thinking about it, it made him feel kind of pathetic, but, well... He was used to that, too. Selfish, cowardly, but striving for the approval of others in their face, regardless.
The thought of being glued to a horse didn't make Trent feel very at ease, and he looked at the pony unhappily. Well, if she would be in one of Alder's stables, she'd have no choice but to stay where they put her, anyway, so that helped. He nodded in agreement. "That sounds good." Trent looked at the pony and he started to walk in the direction of the stables, a place that was fairly central in the pack lands, close to the hotel and so Trent had come there several times already. It was one of the first places he'd found after joining, and where he had first run into Alder after joining the pack, too.
"So uh.. What do you use the horses for, anyway..?" Why are you friends with them? He didn't phrase the last question, aware of its social incompetence, and looked to Alder; hoping that he'd find the answer to the rude questions in his head through the curious, innocent one he'd actually asked.
