Sira was still shaky, but the words exchanged by the larger wolves were kind, considerate, helpful.... helpful. She closed her eyes feeling she didn’t deserve this that she didn’t deserve to even be in this cave. She didn’t deserve such kindness. She was a bad Jackal, she had run away from her mother and then ran away from those men. She had hurt one badly. Death she had little to no experience with but she knew he lay unmoving and that she had a chance to get away. She swallowed as X’yrin explain she and he were warriors. She tilted her head slightly confused.
“W’what’s a warrior?”
Yes she totally ignored Jaden’s offer to make her feel more comfortable, but that was mostly because she didn’t know what would. There had been very few luxuries in her life and she didn’t even remember one of them. The months of abuse made her forget most of what she had learned after leaving her mothers. She still looked around, though the eyes disappeared she knew they were there. Jaden and X’yrin couldn’t see or smell them because they didn’t want to be. That was obvious. Sira would just have to convince them later, just in case. For now she was safe as long as she didn’t tell them about the wolves.
