The guilt in failing to retrieve Kohaku ate at him. Every time he saw Kiara, Tharin relived his failure. He'd wanted to help, to return the pup to his family. Instead he was badly injured, not of any use to anyone. He tried to make up for it, patrolling whenever he could. Despite being urged to rest, Tharin wanted to try and help the pack. Even if it was just one more wolf blocking the way for an intruder. He could sound the alarm if it was needed.
The sound of paws behind him put the warrior on edge. Whirling around he searched for who was there, half expecting that it would be Amy, ready to finish him off. He had fought well against her, managing to escape with his life. Tharin had still experienced fear though. Seeing that it was Kiara Tharin relaxed. He looked over her, picking up the tension in her frame. Kiara. Is something wrong? He hoped it wasn't anything serious.
