It had become habit when the pup was in her arms that she would sway gently back and forth as she had when first taking the little one as her own. It was a motion she remembered from when she was a pup and her father took her into his arms and brought her to peace as she was lulled by his voice and scent. Though the distress of the pup had waned some, the action was involuntary and instinct deemed it necessary to reassure her pup whilst in the presence of another.

She watched her companion behind clouded eyes, searching for a tell of his disapproval for her actions. A hint, anything at all and she would gladly explain her reasoning but in anticipation she tensed again, her tail stilling and muscles becoming taut. But again deemed unnecessary at the voice of his acceptance. Yet for some reason she did not take comfort in his words. In fact there was little comfort in their conversation all together. Forced…yes, that was what she felt became of their interaction. But it was not without purpose as the Issum extended his hand with something for her to see. Placing an endearing lick on the pup’s ear she left him down carefully to resume his sniffing about or investigation of Jaden if his chose while she gave her attention to what was presented.

A necklace made from teeth she recognized all too well. The formidable tools of a beast that sought to take her life and in a fortunate instance, brought this man back into her life. X’yrin stared at the teeth but did not reach for it yet. Her eyes were wide as she looked it over from where she was, her mind buzzing with questions as to why he would give this to her. Uncertainty pulled her brows to knot but hardly hindered her reach for it when her arm regained is function with her mind now drawn from its stupor.

“For me?” quietly she asked as if she hadn’t heard him right the first time. She took the necklace in a light grasp and brought it closer for her eyes to better see its detailing. She ran a claw delicately over the engraved spirals, mentally mapping their pattern before lifting her gaze to her companion. “You made this?” Surely he had to for none other knew the significance of the material used, but she wanted to be certain. She wanted to hear it from his own mouth. “Why?”
