The best he had hoped for was her acceptance. Maybe a gentle hug or kind words to sooth his desires, anything but silence. No words came but the embrace thrust upon him was not expected either. After her movement and while she pressed into his fur he stood there stupidly and utterly shocked. The music of her voice wasn’t sad or rejecting but happy. Happy like he hadn’t heard in a long while. And it was beautiful. Slowly, as if to test the reality he saw to be sure she was actually pressed into him, his arms folded around her and his jaw rested lightly on her crown.
Jaden could still not believe this to be true but it ceased to matter. Hearing it and feeling that love in her embrace was sensation no words could ever describe. But he tried to express his happiness with a content whine that would never do. The embrace lasted a while after that but it felt like not nearly long enough.
Eventually he couldn’t contain himself anymore. He needed to see it in her eyes and hear it from her voice once more. His head gently descended to brush black cheek against gold as an affectionate request for her eyes again. The embrace they shared stayed tight but he pulled back a little so he could bring his muzzle against hers. You like it then? The question was asked so happily that a broad smile spread over his features. In it was more than the simple and already answered question. The man needed all the assurance this was no allusion that he could draw from her.
