Though she missed his throat, she drug him down with her none the less. The impact to the ground was sharp at best, a pain ascended the length of her spine but did not hinder her retaliation. With him down, she held fast to his arm attempting to dig her claws into it but was blocked by the metal of the gauntlet. A setback but not an impossibility to overcome.

As he rolled into her she used her free arm in an attempt to swat the jabs but missed. Instead her claws grasped the ground beside her, giving her enough stability to raise and aim her knee into his abdomen as she was now forced to take the defensive role and apply some distance between them.
