The challenge in her eyes fired Tharin up, straightening with a low growl. Tail still wagging he trotted slowly after her, letting the slim hybrid dart ahead. The wolf admired her fit form, recovered from the time when she'd lacked food. It had been strange, Tharin doing his best to care for her when she'd turned that way. It was a weakness, but she was recovered, and stronger than before. She crossed the stream, a place he'd slowly began to associate with her presence.
He pretended to ignore her briefly as her gaze turned back, looking elsewhere. He might have not even realized she was there, if his ears were not trained on her. Turning rapidly he growled, and bounded forwards, sharply closing the distance between them. A low woof escaped, nuzzling her as he playfully pushed at her frame, then running ahead of her a short distance before returning. He rested his head over hers, happy at this moment. He forgot everything else, just living with her in that moment.
