He nodded slowly. Prey animals were strange, to him - most of them were larger than the cat, and yet even the deer and the large waterfowl ran from him when he approached. It made him seem larger than he was, which was not that large at all, in fact.
As she continued to describe her feline friend who could not speak as he could, Element thought back to the number of Luperci who were friends with a cat. There weren't many. The inherent desire for a canine to chase and eat a cat was perhaps too great in many Luperci, and the desire to run from them was perhaps too overwhelming for those felines who would be friends. But it did not seem so in this case, he thought.
"Cats are peculiar," he said, matter-of-factly. "If he resented you, he would have disappeared by now. Cats are not prone to nonsense," he said, whiskers quivering in slight amusement. Many cats did have a rather elitist attitude towards others, but it was simply how the cat was made; when they thought something was nonsense, it was not a matter of getting rid of it, but simply leaving as to not deal with it any longer.
