When his eyes reopened, the drowsiness seemed to depart from him and the smell of more food made him even less eager to go to sleep at that moment. Grinning wickedly, he grabbed the plate and began eating away at the fresh stack. However, he took time to appreciate it his second time around and took breathes between bites. When Edgar took the unfinished carving Helios paused and watched him carefully. Showing his work always made him a bit nervous but the Brittany's obvious appreciation vanquished the uncertain feelings. For a while longer, he continued to eat happily, munching along and filling his already distended stomach more. Adding the bacon in was a pleasant surprise as the stripes quickly disappeared in a few hurried snaps. Coming to the last pancake, he had become truly full, letting out a gorged burp as the last bite disappeared in his merle muzzle.
Rubbing his now prodigious stomach, he took note of Edgar's gesturing. It took him a moment to decipher his meaning but after critical analysis he came to realize that Edgar was requesting a trade of him. Smiling broadly, he gave his head a few boisterous nods. It hadn't been the first time he had noticed the goose that was present at the fire, though he had considered more of meal than anything else. Though, seeing as he seemed to be requesting a sculpture the avian creature was not going to be lunch. Helios came to find that he would be happy to spend time with his fellow dog at anytime, since their company was easy and friendly.
Taking a thick piece of driftwood, he eyed the goose for a moment and took a few experimental scores into the wood. But tonight he was too tired to finish anything of such measure. Flopping onto his stomach he yawned and despite the chill felt the warmth of the fire seep into his fur.
