have my peace of mind

DaVinci had been watching the packmembers showing up and a frown had crossed his maw as he realized that a few were missing before Jefferson had begun to speak. He hoped that they were just caught somewhere a distance away and would be running late, but it still didn't look good for them none the less. His stormy orbs looked over each and every one of the faces as Jefferson spoke once more of the departure of Deuce, which had bristled both males and yet life had moved on. He had taken her departure with a sour note but in the edge he didn't care, she'd just shown her true colors and had stripped herself of the mask she'd worn for so long.

His ears flicked back and forth as he listened with half a heart at the everyday things that Jefferson had begun to go over, his mind still wondering why the male was so tense over common everyday news that rumor would have sent around in the end. His eyes turned back to the male as he frowned, and yet it seemed before the hybrid was about to figure out what was next the PAtriarch let lose with a shot straight to his heart. DaVinci couldn't help as the fur along his neck and spine bristled as he growled softly to Jefferson. "What happened..." He wasn't going to waste tears and his own heartache before the pack once more. Jefferson was the only one left who had seen the Savant lose everything the first time they'd thought they were going to lose the Matriarch.

The words barely left his lips as he caught sight of the younger white male that Iskata had adopted approaching the packmeeting. His ears pinned back as he saw the distraught across Pepe's face. DaVinci didn't know what to say or even how to remain strong. His mother could not be dead. She'd lived beyond death time and time again... His eyes broke free from Pepe's as he asked bitterly. "Jefferson, are you sure.." His eyes seemed to beg the male to lie to them but in his heart and by the sight of the form of the Patriarch before him he knew there was no mistaking. Iskata was Iskata and there was not another who resembled the woman. He swallowed hard as his head hung low, not wanting to accept what was making his heart bleed a weep once more.
