     There might have been electricity between them, the way the heat rose from their hysteresis loss. Gabriel’s eyes remained focused on Haku alone, burning, silently speaking a thousand promises of apocalypse and fire. He would burn down all of Dahlia if that was what it would one day take to kill the man. This was not his intent, and he would not break his pact with their leader, but by God one day he would see that man’s head on a pike.
     It did not surprise him that a coyote had attacked a member of their pack. It did not surprise him that it was Hybrid, or that the man had gone after a leader. What surprised him was this display; it was not Haku’s usual standard. “He does,” the Aquila offered shortly. “You didn’t just come here for a name, though.” No question. If that had been all that was required then he would not have come at all.
