It wasn't until the woman spoke up again that Jasper had realized it. He really didn't know where he was. Instead of panicking like normal, though, Jasper turned to peer off behind him, scanning the area and then lifting his eyes to scour the air. Whatever he was waiting for, it never came, and he lowered his head slowly. He would never be as good at things as his father, expecting to find something in the air or the lands that might hint to him about where exactly he was. Not only would he be able to successfully answer her question, it would give him some reassurance that he would be able to find his way home without use of his nose, which had only just struck him in those few moments that he stood there.

"I.." He paused, taking one last moment to look around before bringing his eyes back to the pair of women. "..don't know." The words came out quiet, defeated. Why did it matter to them though? Did he look lost? Why did they seem so defensive? Another revelation hit him and, as always, Jasper jumped farther ahead to conclusion that he likely should have. His eyes teared up almost immediately, suddenly more frightened that he had been confused. "A pack land?" The words came out in a quiver of fright, dreading the answer, even though it seemed to make the most sense. And their punishment of trespassing was certainly death, wasn't it?
