She hadn’t expected the boy to know Haku’s whereabouts, she didn’t expect Haku to keep them informed of it. “Maybe he is sleeping.” Cercelee nodded in agreement and let them both slip into thoughtful silence. Then the idea popped into her head, it was something she had considered before but hadn’t let herself dwell on. “Do you miss your mother?” Cer knew she had done no wrong to Firefly, the women deserved everything she had gotten, but to hurt the children it had never been her intention. Still, they were safer in the pack than they’d be out there with her, Cercelee believed that.
