I would still lay down my life for you

His heart still beat rapidly in his chest as he could feel the heat begin to leave his body. The fire had been quenched for now, but the embers still smoldered within him and would continue to do so until the next time. Then they would burst into beautiful flame again, like a phoenix rising from the ashes. And there would be a next time. The man promised himself. In this moment he wouldn't let himself think any other way. The logical part of his brain had shut down, believing only what he wanted to believe. And he wanted to believe that Corvus would fall. That he would end that nightmare's life and the two of them would continue to walk in the land of the living together, unburdened by that creature's presence. Even if he did fall, he would wait for her. Wait until her time came and walk with her in those lands that no one on this earth knew.

As they kissed and tasted one another yet again he wished for time to stretch on forever. For this moment to last a lifetime. The two of them embraced so fully, coming down off of the ecstasy that they had created for themselves. He could feel his muscles begin to protest against the way he held himself above her, but he wasn't ready to move. Not yet. She fell away from their kiss and he looked down at her. Those obsidian orbs looked down at her with such delight, a soft smile upturning his lips. He leaned down to brush his nose against her's. Not willing to let that space separate them.

He panted as he looked down at her. Just as it was no trifle that he opened up for her, he knew that it was the same for her. She was not the type to let her guard down so completely. He was thankful that for him, she was able to. That she trusted him enough. That was just as much a gift as her love was and he cherished it just as much. His softening member quivered as her legs slip up against his hips and a deep contented sound came from his chest. He stayed there for that while as she held him until his body could no longer stand to hold its weight above her. Onus pulled himself from her with a soft whine and moved to lay on his side. Strong arms wrapped around her slight form and held her close, his nose burying in the fur at the back of her neck.
